On April 6th 2016, together with the SpONSOR project coordinator, Dr. Djamel Khadraoui of the Luxemburg Institute of Science and Technology, the Swiss partners of the SpONSOR consortium, represented by Daniel Baumann of the Swiss Foundation of Rehabilitation Technology, Pierre Rossel of Coherent Streams Sàrl and Abdelaziz Khadraoui of the University of Geneva visited the Alzheimer Association of the Canton of Fribourg in Switzerland.
The Alzheimer Association of the Canton of Fribourg had been approached quite early in the project and showed interest in participating actively at building a consistent pilot for the SpONSOR project. After several meetings in which all the partners involved shared a proactive stance, we were eventually ready to demonstrate a solid model and SpONSOR usage scenario at the last consortium meeting held in Roma on the 16th and 17th of February 2016.
The scenario was choosen by all SpONSOR partners as a starting guideline for the demonstration of the platform during the mid-term review of the SpONSOR project, to be further completed with other pilots‘ contributions and peculiarities.
The purpose of visiting the Alzheimer Association of the Canton of Fribourg was to show them for the very first time the functionalities and design of the SpONSOR platform, so as: 1) to validate the ethical and legals aspects of the pilot and agree upon the documents of participation for the Swiss pilot stakeholders and also, agree upon the process and schedule of the various phases of the pilot starting in June 2016. The feedbacks were positive and constructive regarding the continuation of the platform development and we all looked forward to starting soon the real testing of our solution, for all the SpONSOR pilots in Luxemburg, Ireland, Italy as well as Switzerland.
